Egypt = hot. A postcard

Dear friends and well-wishers,

Egypt is:

a) hot. It’s been fifty degrees (yes, that’s Celsius) for two days straight in Aswan. Luckily it’s the best place so far in Egypt.
b) delicious. I’m already trying to figure out how to make deliciousness such as felafel, koshary and Egyptian soup. I’m developing a severe addiction to any kind of hibiscus flavoured drink. I can feel an intervention coming on already. I also tried Nubian coffee yesterday, a great new coffee experience.
c) non-alcoholic. 0.0% Becks anyone? It’s kind of like how crap alcoholic Becks is, minus the drunken payoff.
d) picturesque. The pyramids are great. But even better is Abu Simbel. It’s 50 kms away from the Sudanese border and they moved the two temples in the 1960s in order to dam the Nile. It’s pretty awesome.
e) refreshing. When swimming in the Nile.

Anyhoo, heading off on an overnight felucca (that’s a boat, friends) trip down the Nile tomorrow. Will think of you all when I’m kicking back with a mango juice, watching the world go by.

Love,

Jess
